FAQ

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Light snacks, sunscreen, and adequate clothing to prepare for weather conditions.  Bottled water is provided onboard, if you prefer other refreshments they may be brought onboard and stored in our ice chest in limited quantities.  Beer in moderation is allowed except when minors are present in the client group.

WHAT KIND OF FISHING WILL WE BE DOING?

Trolling, bottom-bouncing, jigging, casting, and in some cases drift fishing or still fishing.  Both casting and spinning rod/reel combos are available depending on preference and activity. Target species are trout (cutthroat, rainbow, brown), kokanee salmon, and walleye.  All gear and tackle are provided for these activities.

DO YOU PROVIDE LIFE JACKETS?

Yes, we provide USCG approved life jackets that will fit children approximately 30 lbs in weight to adults with chest sizes up to 65".  For those that are 16 years and over and at least 80 lbs we have the option of Onyx A/M-24 All Clear inflatable life jackets.  These CO2 charged Type 5 low profile PFD's have Type 3 performance allowing for maximum comfort and movement while fishing.  Designed to automatically inflate if immersed in water, they are backed up with a manual pull cord as well as backup oral inflation tube.  IMPORTANT: PER STATE LAW CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13 MUST WEAR A LIFE JACKET WHENEVER THE BOAT IS UNDERWAY.

DO I NEED A FISHING LICENSE?

A fishing license is required for residents and nonresidents age 14 and over that will actively engage in fishing activities.  Licenses can be purchased online at https://wgfd.wyo.gov/apply-or-buy or at most sporting goods stores.  Proof of license must be presented prior to boarding.  Resident licenses start at $6/day, nonresident at $14/day.

WHERE DO WE MEET AT THE START OF THE TRIP?

If fishing Alcova reservoir we will meet at the public boat docks which are just past the Casper Boat Club and Swim Beach.  Ample parking is available in the upper lot by the bathrooms.  The link below provides a pdf map of the area.
